Vol. 25: Signature Edition Spotlight: Elijah Elias
Hailing from Jackson, New Jersey, Elijah Elias is one of the seven music powerhouses on Blue Hawk Records’ Vol. 25: Signature Edition compilation album this semester. At only 18 years old, Elijah’s musical talent is stellar. Since he was young, Elijah’s passion in life was music; Writing all of his songs in his bedroom during his spare time, he signifies artistic essence in its purest form.
Elijah’s biggest inspirations in music range from the Beatles and Ben Folds Five to Oasis and Bob Dylan. No slouch of a musician, Elijah’s instrument repertoire ranges from guitar, bass, and piano to ukulele, harmonica, and tenor banjo. When Elijah writes his music, he states, “I tend to either write the chords and melodies in a single stream of consciousness. Once I have a base for a song, I start to experiment and expand upon the ideas that I like from whatever I was jamming in prior.”
A true artist, Elijah’s favorite genres include Beatle-esque, Folk, and Alternative, but Elijah says that “I try my best to listen to all genres of music.” When I asked him about if he came from a family of musicians or not, he said, “Nearly everyone in my household is a musician, in one way or another. My dad and my sister Rome inspired me to start playing music because they were musicians.” As a musician, Elijah’s audition resonated with me this year, and I think I can speak on the rest of the class’ behalf, too.
His first time working with Blue Hawk, Elijah says, “Every single part of working with Blue Hawk Records has been fun and easy. Everyone who’s apart of Blue Hawk is a kind person and a talented musician. It’s awesome to have so many like-minded people working together; it creates a great atmosphere of musical love and creativity.” Watch out for Elijah Elias, folks — this is just the start of his journey.
