Volume 25: Signature Edition Artist Spotlight: Stevie 808
Stevie 808 is an artist and producer that has been making waves and staying in line with the trends of music. Originally playing guitar when he was 6 years old, Stevie’s sound eventually evolved into the melodic sound of the 2010s and today's music trends. This album will be Stevie 808’s fourth appearance on a Blue Hawk compilation album. It is very clear from the previous 3 songs that Stevie has continually grown both as a person and an artist throughout the years.
Stevie 808 had countless amounts of inspiration when he was starting his musical journey. These go from a rock band in The Red Hot Chili Peppers to melodic rap artists like Juice World and Lil Uzi Vert. This can be heard in some of his own music as he would go as far as to “...emulate melodic sounds and tonality” from these artists. This can be heard in some of Stevie 808’s own music that he collectively wrote, produced, and performed. Stevie showed clear and utter fearlessness knowing that this album would not be his first. However, Stevie wanted to make clear that there is one overarching message when it comes to all of the works he is sharing with Blue Hawk Records.
Stevie made appearances on Blue Hawk compilation albums including Back on Track with “Corner Store,” Exit 22 with “In My Head,” and Open 24 Hours with “The Way You Move.” Each of these albums make a clear distinction between Stevie’s sound, and genre, as an artist. Stevie is continuing this progressive nature on Volume 25: Signature Edition. When we were talking about all of his appearances, Stevie stated that “Being different and switching it up on every track is my main goal, it’s to bring something new.” Stevie 808 is bringing another unique sound to his release “In Line” stating that “This will be an 80’s, synthwave sound, kind of like The Weeknd.” This is different compared to his previous release being a “pop oriented song” like Dua Lipa. These songs are created in quick succession that can range between 1 to 2 months at a time. Stevie also managed to be an artist and to have production credits for songs on Volume 25: Signature Edition including his original song “In Line,” Hana Mckinney’s “Swan Lake Song,” and Marley Bell’s “black and blue.” It is absolute that Stevie 808’s creativity and work ethic needs to be noted going forward.
